I love finding treasures, whether you're out junking or buying in your favorite store. You may even have some pieces hanging around your house that you can "revive" with metal. I know a lot of you do this because you've sent me pictures of all sorts of cool things you are metalizing. A lot of you are even getting the kiddos involved (shout out to Susan and son Kyle) you've got to check out her site, Susan Chong is creating all sorts of cool projects with our metal and has gotten her son, Kyle (who is 7 or 9 years old), crafting his own projects.
For today's TTV we show how to alter those metal signs you see everywhere.
I added more pieces of metal using our word Kabuka and just layered the small pieces above the bathtub. The daisy Kabuka mold works perfectly on our Bronzed God Art Metal. I think this color goes with just about any other color produced and gives off such an antiqued look all on it's own.
Or, take the same mold and only emboss a few of the flowers, add some stems and you have the perfect start for this piece with a saying collaged on the top. I adhered the saying with our Humungo Killer Adhesive.
Finish the entire piece off with three different decorative wheels on the edge and sand like crazy (use a new sanding block) and you have a really cool art piece. I cut the metal a little short so we could iincorporate a little of the original edge which tied in well with the overall look.
Comment on this week's video and on Friday evening I'll pick a winner for the daisy piece shown here. The bathtub is going to our BRAfree Retreat.
We got a lot of emails regarding our online classes so we will be rolling those out in the coming months, I've got a ton of ideas that y'all are gonna just LOVE!
Have a great week and get outside and plant some flowers and eat tacos...you would think we own a taco stand!
Wow, love the bathtub and flower, never thought of "enchancing", you girls are just too cool. The flower will look really great in my new painted room so I gotta win it. Guess if I don't I will be going to taget and looking for tin pictures. Enjoy, another great start to my Tuesday. Peggy

Another fun Tuesday with Cheryl and Megan! I'm thinking I'm glad I don't live too close to Target, Hobby Lobby, Michael's or TJ Maxx....I'd be on my way already to see what I could buy to "make better".....

Love Love it!! OK call me a dork but I live for Taco Tuesday. It is nice to see crafters that don't act like there is a stick in their butt.

Love Taco Tuesday with Cheryl and Megan. Love the "altering" of other pieces of art.
You make it look so cool. Love you both, you are so much fun to watch. Hmmmmm, now what can I "enhance" or "alter".

Love what you did with the bathtub art. Those flowers are so pretty. Can't plant in the great up north yet as the flowers would die. But soon. Thanks for all you guys do to keep us entertained and creating!

Hey Gals! When I first saw the title, Bathroom Tub, I thought, oh Lord, now they've gone over the top! I tend to go over the top with everything!! It turned out really cool. A friend of mine had given me a plaque (kinda like your giveaway, which reminded me) that says, "Queen of Everything" with a crown attached to it too. I still don't know if it was a dig or what, but my "illusion" is that she meant it!

I hope I wasn't the only one who looked at the title of TTV of "Bathroom tub" and wondered if you were really going to cover a tub! Guess I just have come to expect the unexpected from you two. Love both plaques that you did.

Another cool Taco Tuesday idea on this TAKS Tuesday at school. I am still watching you guys on my lunch break even though I am always getting strange looks for laughing so much.
Thanks;')

I had my doubts when I saw what you were doing to that bathtub. I actually liked the original tub. However, I love the way it looked when you had finished it. I also love the piece you created for the giveaway. I took out a magnifying glass to read the saying, and it's exactly what I want to say to my daughter. Thank you.

As always..amazing!I want to go to Target and see what treasures I can find. Love all that you do. Look forward to the next Tuesday as soon as I am done watching. Have a sunny week.

Oh my Gosh!! I luv what you did w/the bathtub. I would never have thought to cover up the existing pattern but it turned out beautifully. I love the antiqued look the Bronze God gives it. And the rectangle piece---simply gorgeous as well. Love how you utiilized the trim effect already on the piece. Thanks for sharing these ideas.

Awesome project again! You two are too darn funny, love hearing Meagan "snort" in the background, hysterical!

Thanks for the great ideas in the video. Using the pristine, white sanding block on the tub made me think of scrubbing bubbles -
"And away goes troubles down the drain!"

Rub-a-dub-dub, Cheryl and Megan in the tub! You can't imagine what was going on in my head when I saw the title of this week's video. ROFL
I absolutely love the enhanced art. That tub would be perfect in my bathroom. But, I'll be very happy to take the inspirational "hers" plaque off your hands instead!!! YOU are truly an inspiration. I love your ideas, your creativity, and your videos! Please never stop doing them.
And, yes, I'd love to do some online classes! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve.

Here's 2 Bronze God...on a mat cuz Cheryl says "ya need cushion" when you're doing this project. Now I'm gonna take a hot soak so I can picture all the things I'll be creating with my new Molds, Metals & Mats. Andrea

That bathroom should be very appreciative of the great work you did and proud to hang that art work! Hope to see it in person some day.

You guys scared me - you started this episode being sooooo polite with each other - and wearing new clothes, too! I was happy to see things quickly swing back into familiar territory. I love the tub, but I CRAVE the flowers! I fell in love with them at the Queen's Ink, and I've wanted them ever since. So make it easy on yourselves - you already have my address. Just send it on this way.
Thanks for the inspiration and the laughs!

Loved this one! I'm a garage sale junkie and I'm always seeing stuff for a buck or even less that doesn't go with my decor but with this type of remake, either partial or total like you did with the HERS sign, it could be perfect! Thanks for the inspiration!

I love watching your wuz up Wednesday videos and increasing my own knowledge about what one can do with your Ten Second Studio product. I did not know that there were different size stumps either. The bathtub project looked beautiful! I can't wait to purchase the "Shrine" mold with the flowers on the back. I am still practicing my hand at making cards with the metal sheets and just love it! I'm looking forward to more of your ideas!! Thanks so much Cheryl and Megan!

You two will be so proud of me! I bought the new copper colored metal and two small molds to play with. I took what I made and attached it to the cover of a 3"x3" book I've been working on--amazing!! I LOVE the enhancement!! (I would send a photo, but I'm at work, ahem)
I've been fighting getting into the Metal Madness, but, alas, I was weak and have fallen head first into it all!! Watch out silicon refiners and kabuka molds, here I come!!!

Hi Cheryl:) You are a very talented woman and VERY patient with your daughter:)I have a teen son and I don't think I could do what you do with your daughter, but it seems to work with you too, so you are fortunate:) I have enjoyed watching many of your videos and learned lots of things from you both to do with my tools, foils and inks. Thanks to both of you for inspiring me.In this art piece, I especially love the tiny, tiny art that you have placed on the card. The second artwork is simple and easy for those less talented to follow.Thank you so much:)Great ideas both of them!
