Robin Novak has done it again with a really cool tutorial on transforming a plain old mint tin into an altered object de art! This would be a unique treatment for gift cards for the holidays. Check it out and let us know what your idea would be for the mint tin.

Very nice!
I've used the mint tins for:
1) Giving gift cards. Metal emboss it with their name, personal message or just a cool design and put the card inside. I metal emboss the inside lid also so it looks good when opened.
2) All my bits and pieces. Metal embossed the tops of the tins with what's inside so I don't have to open them all when looking for something in particular.
3) I also have a stack of them in my studio waiting for an assemblage art piece.
Wow, that'a a lot of Altoids.

They actually make a great "memory to" tin, a sort of shrine, but also for pictures, scrapbook, HUGE necklace or key chain. Heck, they can be used for practically ANYTHING, and I think ATCs fit in them! (A great place to hide a key to where ever because they are metal - use a magnet, paint it to be "incognito" and find a great place to stick it.)

I love metal tins and this is a great way to transform one into a mini piece of art. This is such an easy idea and very doable!
Thanks Vivian.
