When I found out I had breast cancer I created my boobalicious art from wire, plaster and lots of collaged junk. My husband thought I went over the top with the flowers but they were the "cherry on the sundae"!
On September 15th I will be in Scottsdale Arizona for our VerDay ALLday Workshop. What better location to have this workshop than in the coolest store in the area, Frenzy Stamper located in downtown Scottsdale.
(7064 E 5th Ave Scottsdale, AZ 85251)
Students will be experimenting with many different techniques using the VerDay Paints and Patina on paper, wood, fabric, VerDay cloth, chipboard and metal. Students are also encouraged to bring something from home to paint...any butt ugly or unique item they wish, as long as it's not too large. I'm also going to teach you how to finger knit with our Arty Farty Fi bers and make your own bracelet.
Join us for a fun day of painting, creating and VerDay'ing your brains out. You can sign up online or call (817-595-9333). I'll also share the story behind my new name GAZR! Hope to see you in sunny, warm Scottsdale!
I have always loved using tiles in crafts. Elitia Hart takes working with tiles to a new level with her techniques using VerDay Paints and transparencies. I hope you get as many ideas for using these paints as I have watching Elitia.
That's right you can win $950 worth of cool products by just leaving a comment on what your next craft project is going to be. People make a good comment. Cathie will go to all the blogs and check out what comments people have made. So don't just say I want to win...everyone wants to win something. Post something about what you want to make with everything you win. Of course you could win our VerDay Paints from us. Check out all the other prizes here. (I tried posting everything here and it kept getting deleted) Post a comment here and then go to the other blogs and post something there for more chances.
Don't forget to watch the last two shows on TLC tomorrow night. That's right they are showing two new shows tomorrow night. I know some have posted comments that they don't like the show or think it's not crafty enough...well suck it up. This summer is full of reruns and you can watch one show about crafting and it won't kill you. You know I say that with love! Don't forget to post a comment.
Life is an experiment and what better way to play than to join us for one of our VerDay All Day Workshops. These workshops have been very popular and we've had requests for a weekday workshop so we've added Tuesday, September 11th.
We're going to change this one up. Cost for this class is $75.00 and students will receive our 2oz VerDay Kit along with an Accessory Kit. We will be covering lots of tips and techniques in this class. Call or email us for more info.
I am finishing up some samples and we will be posting our fall classes next week.
This week's slide video is done by Elitia Hart. She has created such a cool technique using the VerDay paints and metal pieces on ceramics. You may not have a cat sitting around but I bet you have some sort of ceramic (how about a lamp) and you could try this same technique. We love to see what our followers create so please share it with us on facebook or send us a pic and we will post it.
We're getting stuff ready for another VerDay Workshop this Saturday in the Studio. We've had some interest for a weekday workshop and so I've got September 11th (Tuesday). We are changing it up so if you're interested give us a call and we will add you to the list. (817-595-9333)
What's that saying..."better late than never". This week has been a blurrrrr. I was in Ohio last week at Marco's Paper and want to thank everyone who came and took classes and attended the demos. I had a blast and it was good to see friends and hang out. A special Thank You to Dan and Colleen Juhl who hosted my stay. I love these two people, they are so gracious and funny and I have fun staying with them.
It was also fun to be invited to be on Fox 45 in Ohio. I've never been on a news show so that was a first and fun to do. Thanks to Dan and Meagan for being good sports...Dude! Click on the link and you can watch me in all my glory.
Thanks to everyone who posted and emailed birthday wishes. It was wild that more than 6 people know me. I guess going around and asking people "Do you know who I am?" pays off.
Tuesday and Wednesday brought Elitia Hart from Calgary Ontario to town. Elitia spent two days playing with us and sharing projects that she's working on. Elitia is also our guest designer this month and she did the above video. We had so much fun just playing and yakking
I know everyone is going to love her techniques. I met Elitia a couple of years ago when she came for our certification class. When I looked at her work I asked her "why are you here?" I would want to take one of her classes. She just laughed and created all sorts of cool stuff using our tools and metal.
Needless to say her new passion is VerDay paints. Wait til you see some of her ideas.
I have to say that since I got home I am totally discombobulated. I think I need a vacation! We still have more videos to show that our friend Trisha did. Megan keeps messing up the videos when she edits and I'm thinking I may have to take over the editing....not.
Have no fear we will get everyone back into the loop with the videos and let everyone know when they're up. Hopefully I'll be back on track next Tuesday.
Our next VerDay all day class in next weekend (August 18) I think we have one spot still open, so if you would like to join us for a fun day, just give us a call.
