I can't believe it's June already, I would like it to be April. But time just keeps marchin' on and this month we welcome Louise Williams as our designer for June.
Louise took a rather plain jane item and maxed it out.
I had this old copper and glass dish set that I picked up at the local opportunity shop sitting there waiting for a makeover for ages. It was discoloured but I loved the shape and wanted a verdegris effect on it to tie in with the turquoise and grey colour scheme of
my soon to be finished studio.
I started by giving it a very light sand and then sponged on a coat of the TENSecondStudios VerDay paint in Copper. I let that dry and then sponged on a second coat and lightly sprayed with the solution and left it for a day to dry and develop the colour.
Once it was dry (and a gorgeous verdegris colour) I added some black lace trim and flowers to decorate it and it now sits on my desk holding all my sponges and daubers
Louise, I think you did a fab job on something that most of us have hanging around our house already.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next week and I hope this gives all of you an idea to experiment on something you already have and give it new life.

What a great look - and I like how you're using it.
