We love embossing all sorts of surfaces and chipboard is no different.
We took a regular piece of chipboard, used an embossing folder with an embossing machine.
We then painted on the first coat of our VerDay Paint. On the right of this pic is our Brass, Iron and Copper. Let dry.
Sponge on another coat of paint and spray with our VerDay Patina and you'll see the transformation over several hours.
When this is completely dry about 6-12 hours then sand off the top lightly or dry brush another coat of paint on top.
The Iron will take the longest to "rust out." These pieces would also make great backgrounds for cards with embossed metal on top.
Or, die cut a heart and attach to the front of a book. This heart was done in our Bronze and then sanded.
This gives a darker color than the copper and looks so cool with the Fire Engine Red Metal.
What I truly love about this technique is the randomness of the reaction with the paint and the patina.
If you used regular acrylic paint to achieve this same look, you might over paint the top coat. With this patina....you have no control over what you get! If you want more patina, just apply another coat of paint and spray on more VerDay. It's that easy.
Last week got away from me, I came home from our trip to Tucson to then go and have a cat scan of my stomach, this week I'm seeing another doctor about surgery, so I've got my mind on a few other things right now. Not to mention living in a bedroom with ripped up carpet, holes in the walls and wondering when we can get it all fixed so I don't trip on the freakin' carpet in the middle of the night. Anywho, I meant to pick a winner for last week's blog comment...who is....Sheila from NH. Sheila email me and we will send out some goodies to you asap.
Tollroad to Crazy Update:
For those of you who wondered how your house can have water problems if there is a thunderstorm...it's very common. Lightening just has to hit your house a certain way and can cause pipes that were fine one minute to start leaking the next. Our's did that in two spots and $5,000 later.
Favorite hubby replaced my mom's toilet seat which was heated, splashed water, dried your ass and probably blew hot air up your ass all at the same time. The new seat is just heated and sprays deodorant in the bowl. When my mom and dad found out about our leaks, then they started thinking about their toilet. So my mom started reading the info packet that came with the toilet (who reads that shit?) and informed me that we needed a different plug for the toilet so that they didn't get electrocuted while sitting on the toilet.
Everytime I sit down to talk with my mom I wonder what she's going to come up with next and I wish you could have seen the look on my face when she voiced her concern. She then wanted to know what favorite hubby was doing at that hour (he was asleep) and could he fix it as it was suppose to rain that night (no he couldn't!) That night as I walked into our bedroom, I tripped on the carpet and almost did a header into the dresser, which is in the middle of the bedroom, I stumbled into the bathroom, sat on my unheated cheap toilet seat and prayed to the gods to just strike the toilet right then. I heard God laugh and say, "Cheryl suck it up!"
As soon as this week's video is up I'll post a link here and hopefully it will be done sometime Tuesday.

Cheryl, I'm so sorry that you have such problems with your house. Unfortunately, "Mother Nature" can do whatever she wants, and she doesn't give a shit what happens to the people involved. I hope that things get fixed soon for you.
I, also, am concerned about your stomach. I wonder if it's from all this stress. I sure hope that the Dr. gives you compassionate care and helps you to feel better!

Cheryl Hope the doctor gives you good news about your stomach problems. Wishing you and favorite hubby a wonderful Valentine's Day. Sending prayers and soft hugs your way.

Thank you for your concern Barbie, but I don't know how you could think I have stress. I'm the most stressfree person on earth! :)
Actually I have a hiatial hernia that is causing my stomach to go up into my chest...that's what my doctor said and I should see a surgeon asap. I told my favorite hubby my stomach was going to come out of my mouth like in Alien. And, that's kinda what it feels like.

Sorry to hear about your Alien stomach (soo loved that movie when I was younger...now...can't stomach (bwhaa!) it!!
And I have to say, I totally cracked up about your mother's concerns about getting her @$$ shocked while on the toilet!! Sorry, I think I would have died laughing!! (which, then, could be taken as God's way of striking me with lightening!!)

Cheryl, I met you in Tucson at the Bead Show and after watching your videos, especially the one about a show with your daughter, I can just imagine the look on your face as your mom is talking to you. That made my day and I too have heard God say "suck it up!"
