Yes I was able to salvage everything from last week's TTV video.
I'm now on my way back to Spain, and I've been journaling like a mad woman. I took my camera and shot lots of pics along with some video. It may make it's way into a video and it may not...we shall see.
Today's TTV we show how this journal was finished off. We only had to repair one page and I love how everything can be fixed.
There are no problems just challenges.
That should be a stamp.
Here is a better photo of the page I cut out and then stitched around.
All the stitching work was done while the sacks were still unattached. If I had had more time I probably would have stitched every page
This page shows more stitching, rub-ons, smaller pages and tags.
I hope I have enough pages for all the stuff I'm doing or I may have to make another book. If I make another book I promise not to make it into a video.
For those of you who would like to make their own "travel journal" we are selling the pages, chipboard and a sheet of adhesive as a Travel Book Kit. Because I love to recycle, I figured you could also desconstruct the box it comes in and have the front and back cover for your book. Yes, I know I'm the most clever person you've ever met and I tell myself that daily.
I want to thank Lia and all the wonderful people I met at De Craftorij in Ede. This was my first visit to Holland and I hope to come back again.
Watch out Barcelona, here I come.

The Lake House book is awesome!. Thanks for doing the second part. As you showed "There are no problems just challenges". Luv the creative "fix" to the challenge. Who said all pages had to be the same size? The two TTVs show the process well.
Megan looking forward to the kits being online and Cheryl enjoy Spain. Ole!

Absolutely love it!! Got a huge kick out of both of the videos. Sometimes you two are more like sisters than mother and daughter. I hope my daughters and I get along as well as the two of you do when they are adults.

I love making books and thought I'd seen it all until you came along and did this project....sooooo many options for this technique...thanks for showing me the way (twice, as a matter of fact since "mommy dearest" didn't listen to you, Megan!)

I really liked the way this journal came together. It ended up having nice large pages and seems like it would be very sturdy. I've not seen a journal made like this before. And, I am glad that you didn't remake the video, because we have all done something similar at one time or another. As an aside to Cheryl, I have not seen your name associated with Inspired this year so I am assuming that you are not going to be there. I told my husband (Duane, the perfect husband, maybe you recall talking with him last year) that I didn't think you were going to be there. He asked me to tell you that he will miss getting you Starbucks to fuel the mid-afternoon slump.

Love the bags! Isn't it nice to be right once in awhile, Megan. Did you mark the date in your calendar?

Cool book. Nice idea for a new scrap book for my great grandchild that is due in Sept.

Well, the lesson learned here was to think outside the box...guess that is a little corny.
As Cheryl would say, anywho, loved both chapters...we all learn from our mistakes.
Hope you are having a great time!

I was wondering why you didn't put the book together leaving the end of the bags open so you could put stuff in the bags - like tickets, pamphlets, coins, etc. instead of making those the spined portion of the book. That's where I thought you were going when you pulled out the bags. Ok - don't start picking on me and telling me that YOU're the designer of the book and I can do it any way I want to. It's just a suggestion! LOVE the lake house book - beautious!

both weeks' videos are instructive. That's what really happens when you are intensely working on a labor of love project with one-of-a-kind irreplacable papers on a deadline. Oh yeah, with a daughter at your side. Note that I left out an adjective for the daughter, since I don't know who is picking winners. I could so totally make a cool book project from this kit. I'm already saving cardboard.

I'm always making mini books. I love how you recycle and reuse! I have my own chipboard/package pile to choose from! Love it! Great you have a package to get everyone started. And a smashing video too!!!!!

You two are the reason God put Tuesdays on the calendar! I'll be honest I just about wet my pants last week watching and listening to you two have that "bleep" fest with the tacos flying all over the screen. At one point I was even joining in and hollering at you Cheryl to stop and check your cover that you have it going the wrong direction. I was laughing so hard. I was so noisy that my husband came out to see what all the commotion was about. I was watching around 1am. Cool book and perfect timing as my oldest daughter and I just booked a nine day cruise to Mexico for the fall and I had just told her we need to create a travel journal so we could sit on deck and have some down time after all the touring. I love the black bags. I've always used the kraft ones so this is more unique. Leave it to you!
Thanks again you two and enjoy the rest of your travels! Can't wait to see what your journal looks like at the end of your trip! you must do a show and tell!
Hi Fives!

What a kick you two are! I had no doubt you would find a way to fix the book. It was such a treat though to be so entertained while I learned something new! I had just finished making my son a travel journal (some embossed metal on the cover, but otherwise just a journal for writing)...before I saw your videos. I'm thrilled with the way mine turned out, but I don't think I had as much fun making it as you two did. What exactly do you put in those tacos?
